More than 80 countries exchange over 4000 traineeships annually
The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience, Association sans but lucratif (non-profit association), commonly known as IAESTE A.s.b.l. is an association of national committees representing academic, industrial and student interests. IAESTE is a non-profit and non-political organization founded at Imperial College in 1948 as an independent, non-governmental student work exchange organization and maintains operational relations with UNESCO.
The mission of IAESTE is to operate a high quality practical training exchange program between the member countries in order to enhance technical and professional development and to promote international understanding and goodwill amongst students, academic institutions, employers and the wider community. Annually, IAESTE serves 4,000 students, 3,000 employers and 1,000 academic institutions through career-focused professional internships abroad, social and intercultural reception programs, international networking and other career and employer branding activities in more than 80 countries worldwide.
The IAESTE program plays an invaluable role in the workplace and academic circles, supporting universities and companies to recruit top students for short and long term projects, as well as benefit from new ideas, fresh perspectives and, in many cases, improve multilingual skills. Students from the fields of science, engineering, technology and applied arts participate in the program which provides an invaluable opportunity for students to kick-start careers in their chosen fields. The added challenge of working abroad allows students to build their confidence, establish a global network of friends, and develop skills that will help them make their mark in today’s global economy.
There are few experiences in life that are more unique and life-changing as living and working abroad. The intercultural, academic, personal, and social benefits that are associated with international internships create the perfect opportunity for young people to get a flavor for different working environments while also experiencing how other cultures operate in the business world. Thanks the IAESTE program and our strong network of employers, pursuing an international internship has never been easier for today’s students.
The IAESTE Cyprus National Committee, supported by the Republic of Cyprus, was established in 1980 and is a full member of the International Organisation of IAESTE and has been administered by the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) since 2011.
IAESTE Cyprus is administered by Cyprus University of Technology.
