Ignasi's current research focuses in understanding film formation of hybrid organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites for photovoltaic applications to be able to control the morphology. He also continues his research in organic photovoltaics (OPV) and in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Ignasi joined the group after the completion of his PhD studies at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona under the supervision of Dr. Mariano Campoy-Quiles (ICMAB-CSIC) and Dr. Paul Lacharmoise (Cetemmsa Technological Centre). During that time his research covered several important aspects for OPV technology: alternative annealing treatment for the active layer under ambient conditions, replacement of ITO electrode with embedded Ag printed grids and the replacement of halogenated solvents for active layer processing. The latter was partly done at the group of Prof. C. J. Brabec in Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Ignasi is from Barcelona.
