About Epirroi

The participating research organizations have collaborated many times with Municipalities and Municipal Services, providing technological and not only advice, with the aim of improving their organic operation. The project aims to exchange experiences and know-how between the partners involved. On the one hand, research institutions will implement innovative and well-established technologies aimed at reducing the size of leaks, improving the quality of the network and saving money on water services. On the other hand, water services will exchange experiences and know-how resulting from the long-term operation of their networks. The objectives of the project are in full compliance with the strategic objectives of the Program as:

1) The project helps to improve the efficiency of water use and reduce losses. It modernizes the equipment and know-how of water supply services by providing them with infrastructure projects, necessary for their proper operation. Reduced losses save financial resources and help protect the environment.

2) Transfers know-how from research bodies to water services, useful for improving service delivery by reducing losses. Water services enrich their quiver with modern sensors and their know-how.

3) By incorporating the results of applied research, water services are equipped with software that enables them to better monitor their network. Augmented reality software will allow them to pinpoint the exact location of their pipelines, reducing response time in the event of a fault and reducing damage to other networks.

4) It enables researchers to collect real data. The tools produced are intended to be the basis for the methodology proposal that can be adopted by any water service.
